Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using any RoleSignal product — including our web-based interview practice platform, our iOS interview preparation app, or our mobile AI coaching app — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

Description of Service

RoleSignal offers three complementary products:

  • RoleSignal (web): AI-powered mock interview simulations covering technical, behavioral, and system design interviews with real-time voice interaction and automated feedback.
  • Prepit (iOS): Live, voice-based AI mock interview sessions with role-specific templates, personalized feedback, and guided preparation flows — available on iPhone and iPad.
  • Daily Coach (mobile): Personalized, voice-based AI coaching sessions designed to help you build skills, gain clarity, and grow — available on iOS and Android.

All products are intended for personal development purposes only and are not a substitute for licensed professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise).

User Accounts

To use RoleSignal, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your account credentials confidential
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Providing accurate and up-to-date information
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account

Acceptable Use

You agree to use RoleSignal only for its intended purpose. You may not:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service or its infrastructure
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its servers
  • Transmit harmful code, malware, or any malicious content
  • Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm any person
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Use automated tools or bots to access the service without our written permission
  • Resell or redistribute access to the service without authorization

Intellectual Property

RoleSignal and its content — including design, features, branding, interview frameworks, and coaching methodologies — are owned by RoleSignal and protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

Content you create during sessions (your responses, reflections, and notes) remains yours. By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely to deliver the service to you.

AI-Generated Content — Important Disclosures

Both our interview practice platform and coaching app use AI to generate questions, feedback, and guidance. By using either product, you acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or applicable to your situation
  • Interview feedback and coaching guidance are for practice and personal development — not professional career, legal, or mental health advice
  • The service does not guarantee any specific outcomes, whether interview success or personal growth milestones
  • AI responses should be evaluated critically and used as a starting point, not a final word

Payment and Billing

If you subscribe to a paid plan:

  • You agree to pay all fees associated with your chosen plan
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Refund terms will be clearly stated at the time of purchase
  • We may update pricing with reasonable advance notice

iOS In-App Purchases (Prepit & Daily Coach)

Subscriptions and in-app purchases for our iOS apps are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store. By purchasing a subscription through the App Store, you agree to Apple's payment terms.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
  • Free trials, if offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends
  • You may manage and cancel subscriptions in your iOS device Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions
  • We do not store or have access to your payment information — all billing is handled by Apple
  • Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app, your account settings, or by contacting us.

Upon termination, your access to the service ends immediately. Provisions that should survive termination — including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and limitations of liability — will remain in effect.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities. We do not warrant any specific outcomes — professional, personal, or otherwise — from using the service.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROLESIGNAL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RoleSignal and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the service or your violation of these Terms.

iOS Apps

End User License Agreement (EULA)

This End User License Agreement ("EULA") applies to your use of Prepit and Daily Coach on iOS devices, downloaded from the Apple App Store. This EULA is between you and RoleSignal — not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.

License Grant

RoleSignal grants you a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, subject to the Usage Rules set forth in the App Store Terms of Service.

Scope of License

You may not distribute or make the app available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the app. You may not copy, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the app.

Third-Party AI Services

Prepit uses Deepgram for voice transcription and OpenAI for AI-generated interview questions and feedback. Before your first session, the app will request your explicit consent to send voice and session data to these services. You may not use the core interview features without granting this consent. Maintenance and Support

RoleSignal is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support services for Prepit and Daily Coach. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the apps. For support, contact us at support@rolesignal.io.

Warranty

In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. All other warranty claims are governed by these Terms.

Product Claims

RoleSignal, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession and/or use of the app, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

Intellectual Property

In the event of any third-party claim that the app or your possession and use of that app infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, RoleSignal, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.

Legal Compliance

You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary

You acknowledge and agree that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA. Upon your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this EULA, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this EULA against you as a third-party beneficiary.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises, we'd prefer to resolve it directly. Please contact us first and give us a reasonable opportunity to address the issue. If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms as our products evolve. When we make material changes, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notice. Continuing to use RoleSignal after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will stay in full effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, represent the complete agreement between you and RoleSignal regarding the service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
