Overview

What you practice and how you grow is personal, and we treat it that way. RoleSignal is built on a simple principle: collect only what's needed to make the service work, be transparent about how it's used, and put you in control. We don't sell your data, and we never will.

This policy covers all of our products — including RoleSignal (our web-based interview practice platform), Prepit (our iOS interview preparation app), and Wisdom Daily (our iOS daily reading app).

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Name (optional)
  • Role, experience level, or coaching goals (optional, used to personalize your experience)

Session Data

During interview practice or AI coaching sessions, we process:

  • Voice input (streamed and transcribed in real-time — not stored as audio)
  • Text transcripts of your responses, answers, and reflections
  • AI-generated feedback, evaluations, and coaching insights
  • Session notes and progress milestones you choose to save

Usage Data

We collect standard usage information to keep things running smoothly:

  • Session timestamps and duration
  • Feature usage patterns
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system

How We Handle Your Voice

Voice input is central to how RoleSignal works, so we want to be upfront about how it's handled:

  • Audio is streamed and transcribed in real-time during sessions
  • Audio recordings are not permanently stored on our servers
  • Text transcripts are saved so you can review sessions and track progress over time
  • You can delete any transcript at any time from within the app or your account settings

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

  • Deliver AI-powered interview practice and personalized coaching
  • Generate real-time feedback and actionable insights
  • Track your progress and surface patterns in your growth over time
  • Improve the quality of the service (using aggregated, anonymized data only)
  • Send you service-related communications (never spam)

We do not use your personal session content to train AI models without your explicit consent.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored on reputable cloud infrastructure with strong security practices. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Your Rights and Controls

You are always in control. You have the right to:

  • Access and review your data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your session history and progress data
  • Opt out of non-essential communications at any time

GDPR and CCPA

If you're in the European Union, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you're in California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

These include the rights listed above, plus the right to know what categories of personal data we collect and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. We honor these rights for all users, regardless of where you're located.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and the service running properly. We may use analytics cookies to understand how our products are used in aggregate. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser or device settings.

Third-Party Services

We work with carefully selected third-party providers for hosting and databases. Each is bound by a data processing agreement and provides equivalent or greater data protection standards. Details on third-party AI services used by Prepit are covered in the section below.

iOS App

Prepit — Data Practices

Prepit is our AI-powered interview preparation app for iOS. Because it sends your voice and conversation data to third-party services to function, we want to be fully transparent about what is shared, with whom, and why — and to be clear that we ask for your explicit permission before any data leaves your device.

What data is collected

  • Your voice audio, captured through your device microphone during an active interview session
  • Text transcripts generated from that audio
  • Your spoken responses and answers during mock interviews
  • AI-generated interview questions, follow-ups, and performance feedback
  • Session summaries and progress data you choose to save

How it is collected

Audio is captured only while an interview session is actively running and you have granted microphone permission. Voice input is streamed in real time for transcription. Audio is not recorded or stored as an audio file on our servers — only the resulting text transcript is retained.

Who it is sent to

Your voice audio stream is sent to Deepgram solely to convert your speech to text in real time. Deepgram does not store audio processed under our agreement and operates under a data processing agreement with us. Their practices are governed by the Deepgram Privacy Policy.

Your text transcripts and session context are sent to OpenAI to generate interview questions, follow-up prompts, and personalized performance feedback. OpenAI processes this data under their data processing agreement and is prohibited from using it to train their models under our enterprise agreement. Their practices are governed by the OpenAI Privacy Policy.

No other third party receives your raw audio, transcripts, or personal session content.

Your consent

Before your first interview session, Prepit will display a clear consent prompt explaining that your voice data will be sent to Deepgram for transcription and your session content will be sent to OpenAI for AI-powered feedback. You must explicitly agree before any data is transmitted to either service. You can withdraw consent at any time by stopping your session, revoking microphone permission in iOS Settings, or deleting your account.

Subscriptions

Prepit offers in-app subscriptions purchased through Apple's App Store. All subscription billing, free trials, and cancellations are managed by Apple. We do not store your payment information. To manage or cancel your subscription, go to your iOS Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions.

iOS App

Wisdom Daily — Data Practices

Wisdom Daily is a daily reading app for iOS. It is designed to collect as little as possible, and almost everything it keeps never leaves your device.

No account required

You can use Wisdom Daily without creating an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or a password in order to use the app.

What stays on your device

Your reading activity is stored locally on your device and is not sent to our servers, including:

  • Saved passages and your collection
  • Reading progress and where you left off
  • Your onboarding answers and personalized path
  • Your daily reminder time and app settings

No microphone, no tracking

Wisdom Daily does not record audio and does not use your microphone. It does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across other apps or websites. Audio narration for Listen mode is pre-recorded and streamed to your device. It never captures your voice.

Subscriptions

Wisdom Daily offers auto-renewable subscriptions purchased through Apple's App Store. Billing, any free trial, and cancellations are handled entirely by Apple; we never see or store your payment details. To confirm your subscription and restore it after a reinstall, our server stores the subscription identifier Apple issues for your purchase and its status (trial, active, or expired). That identifier is generated by Apple and is not linked to your name or email. To manage or cancel, go to iOS Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reading reminder, it is scheduled locally on your device. Wisdom Daily uses only local notifications. It does not send push notifications and does not collect a push token.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain certain records.

Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained for service improvement purposes.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our products evolve. For significant changes, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notice before they take effect.
